The Reverend Dr. LaBarron F. McAdoo, Sr. was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, April 28, 1964 to the late Thomas E. and Gracie (Wade) McAdoo, Sr.
He is the fifth of six children. Introduced to Christ at an early age, Reverend McAdoo confessed faith in Jesus Christ at age 7 and in 1978, after relocating back to Murfreesboro, Tennessee where he reunited with the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he had first confessed Christ, responded publicly to his call to preaching. Pastor McAdoo began his pursuit to possess a pragmatic and practical mastery of the Word through formal training beginning with the matriculation of American Baptist College of American Baptist Theological Seminary in Nashville, Tennessee. He has continued his educational pursuit whenever and wherever he could glean and has not only graduated from American Baptist Theological Seminary and Emmanuel Bible Seminary both of Nashville, Tennessee, but holds two doctoral degrees from Andersonville Baptist Seminary and ITS with a Doctoral Degree in two fields of study -D.TH & D. Min. He has attended various course studies at various institutions including Vanderbilt University of Nashville, TN; Dallas Theological Seminary of Dallas, TX, The Urban Alternative Leadership Program of Dallas, Texas, The E.K. Bailey International Preaching Conference, and Proclaimer’s Place Preacher’s Symposium of Oxford, England.
Dr. McAdoo is married to the former Miss Angeleatha Allison of Knoxville, Tennessee of more than 36 years and they are the parents of three (3) adult children, two boys: Pastor LaBarron McAdoo, Jr., Mychal DeJuan McAdoo, Esq., and one girl, MeKayla Dominique McAdoo, and four grandchildren.
Dr. McAdoo, currently serves as Senior Pastor of the Union Baptist Church in Wilmington, Delaware, where he began in this branch of Zion in June of 1998. His previous pastorates include the First Baptist Church of Greenville, Kentucky and the Mt. Zion Rucker Missionary Baptist Church of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He has served as Chaplain of the 33rd Street Chapel, 2AD Fort Hood, Texas, assistant to the pastor of the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and the assistant pastor of the Unity Baptist church of Copperas Cove, Texas. As of 2023, Dr. McAdoo has been preaching and pastoring for more than 45 years.
Dr. McAdoo loves reading, preaching, teaching, movies and music. He is a sports enthusiast with a special affinity for fishing. He remains a serious student of the Word and continues to be committed to the building of a spiritual house of worship where people are developed into a dynamic demonstration of the awesome power of God.
